Exploring Chemistry is a personal project of Dr. Roy Jensen, chemistry instructor at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. The goals of the Exploring Chemistry project are
- to prepare a quality resource
- improve on observed limitations in other texts
- highlight the interconnectivity of topics in chemistry, science, and society
- present material in a manner that builds upon previous courses
- present material and solution strategies in a manner that future courses can build upon the foundation laid in Exploring Chemistry
- maintain scientific accuracy
- to educate the general public about chemistry
- to improve my understanding of this material and of pedagogical strategies
Exploring Chemistry uses alternate presentation and instructional strategies to engage the student. The text is a living document, and I welcome comments and suggestions for improving the text.
